Account information: Name, email address, and phone number provided during registration.
Lesson data: Scheduling preferences, lesson history, instrument selections, and location details.
Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
Google Calendar data: When teachers connect their Google Calendar, we access calendar events to sync lesson schedules. See Section 5 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Schedule and manage music lessons between students and teachers.
Send lesson reminders, confirmations, and schedule change notifications.
Sync lesson events with teachers' Google Calendar for scheduling coordination.
Process payments for lesson packages and memberships.
Improve our service and resolve technical issues.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Stripe: For secure payment processing.
Google: Calendar data is synced via the Google Calendar API when teachers authorize the connection.
Service providers: Hosting (Netlify) and database (Neon) providers that help operate our platform, bound by data protection agreements.

5. Google Calendar Integration

Our app integrates with Google Calendar to help teachers manage their lesson schedules. Here is how we handle Google Calendar data:

What we access: We read calendar events to check teacher availability and write lesson events to the teacher's selected calendar.
How we use it: Calendar data is used solely for scheduling coordination — displaying availability, creating lesson events, and syncing schedule changes.
What we store: We store an OAuth refresh token to maintain the calendar connection, calendar identifiers for syncing, and sync tokens for efficient incremental updates. We do not store the contents of personal calendar events.
Data retention: Google Calendar connection data is deleted immediately when a teacher disconnects their calendar from our platform.
No other use: Google Calendar data is not used for advertising, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than lesson scheduling.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database hosting, hashed passwords, and access controls that limit data access to authorized users. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your teacher settings.
Revoke our app's access via your Google Account permissions.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Lesson history is retained for billing and record-keeping purposes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us, and we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is used for music lesson scheduling and may involve minor students. Parent or guardian accounts are used to manage lessons for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
